This glorious slate clock is a Victorian era Masterpiece. Engraved and gilt scrollwork decorates the front of the glossy black slate case.
The movement has been serviced and keeps good time. It is stamped with “JAPY FRERES & Cie” “MED D’HONN”.
Japy Freres won the Medal of Honor in 1855 in Paris. They stamped their movements with this afterward for some time.
The clock has a lovely chime that strikes on the half hour and the hour with the appropriate number for the time.
Clock measures 9” tall x 5” deep
Includes pendulum and winding key.
