Own a piece of chess history. A Customized Swiss Chess Champion Clock by Tag Heuer.
This clock was once owned by, and is engraved with the name of Arturs Zageris, a chess player best known for playing (and losing to) Bobby Fischer. This clock may have even timed their game!! Probably not, though it’s fun to imagine that it did!!
It came into my shop missing one of the buttons and therefore not functioning properly. Using a reclaimed rod of solid aluminum, I lathed a replacement button. Originally it had two red buttons.
Matching the red anodizing from almost 50 years old felt unlikely to be successful. It dawned on me that leaving it as aluminum would match the case as well as creating a contrast to the red button, representing the “black and white” teams.
Both movements are serviced and in great condition.
Ships immediately!
